Seed league releases convention agenda
SALEM -- The Oregon Seed Growers League's 72nd annual convention is scheduled Dec. 10 and 11 at the Salem Conference Center, 201 Liberty St. SE.
Day one of the conference includes presentations on the world seed market from Sam Cable of Barenbrug USA, and the outlook for food and agriculture from a global and local perspective by Vernon Crowder, an agriculture economist and senior vice president of Rabo AgriFinance.
The day also includes presentations from the Oregon Seed Council's pesticide committee and a talk on new leadership and vision from Dan Arp, the new dean of Oregon State University's College of Agricultural Sciences.
Day two includes presentations on alternative crops and an afternoon session that offers pesticide recertification credits.
