Idaho Power to release thousands of trout

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- Anglers looking to catch trout will soon have 81,000 more chances along the middle Snake.

Idaho Power Company will be releasing catchable-size rainbow trout into the Snake River at Centennial Park and other locations starting March 8th.

The release is part of an overall fish stocking effort required by the federal government for the relicensing of the company's hydroelectric dams.

KMVT-TV says 50,000 trout averaging 10-inches in length will be stocked in CJ Strike Reservoir. An additional 31,000 trout will be placed in the upper and lower Salmon Falls reservoirs near Hagerman and Bliss Reservoir.
