N. Idaho officials warn of salmonella outbreak

SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) -- Public health officials are advising consumers to throw out alfalfa sprouts from a northern Idaho store because of a possible salmonella outbreak that could be responsible for sickening 19 people in Idaho, eastern Washington state and western Montana.

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is investigating whether the sprouts from Evergreen Produce in Moyie Springs are responsible for the outbreak.

Health officials tell the Bonner County Daily Bee that six people who became sick reported eating alfalfa sprouts from Evergreen Produce.
