Yakima dairy farmers donate $61,000 to White Swan

TOPPENISH, Wash. (AP) -- The Yakima Valley Dairy Farmers presented a check for $61,000 Monday to the White Swan Relief Fund.

KNDO reports the money will help pay for food, clothing and other supplies for victims of the Feb. 12 wildfire that destroyed 18 homes on Yakama tribal land.

Gov. Chris Gregoire is expected to announce this week whether she'll ask for federal disaster aid for the wildfire damage.
