Biotechnology summit Wednesday in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Researchers and representatives from the health care, agriculture and pharmaceutical industries are gathering in Sioux Falls Wednesday for a biotechnology summit.

Topics include human health, food and agriculture and renewable energy biotechnology.

The morning session will feature representatives from Pfizer, Elanco Animal Health and Black Hills State University.

Dr. Eugene Hoyme from Sanford Research USD will be the keynote speaker.

Hoyme will cover recent Sanford advances in diabetes research, its new major commitment to breast cancer research and other exciting research developments.

Sessions begin at 9 a.m. at the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center.
