SW Idaho man charged with poaching bighorn

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A southwestern Idaho man who authorities say killed a female bighorn sheep out of season and without a tag has been charged with unlawfully killing a bighorn sheep during a closed hunting season.

Twenty-year-old Jake B. Fouts of Nampa was charged Monday in 3rd District Court.

Idaho Fish and Game officers say Fouts shot and killed the bighorn on Sunday in Owyhee County.

Fouts faces up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine if convicted.
