NAMPA, Idaho (AP) -- A Nebraska company has notified more than 500 employees at a beef packing plant in Idaho that they will lose their jobs in two months.

Omaha, Neb.-based XL Four Star Beef informed employees at its Nampa plant that June 7 will be their last day of employment.

XL co-CEO Brian Nilsson said Friday the cost of operating the aging facility make it unfeasible to operate.

Nampa Mayor Tom Dale says 522 people will lose their jobs with the closure.
