Mackay Chapter Bronze in the National Chapter Award

Our very own Mackay Chapter recently won Bronze in the National Chapter Award. The National Chapter Award is a giant planning tool, a record book of all the members in our chapter and what they have achieved in the past year. Leading the project was Selena Gregory, followed by Alaysha Whitworth, Korbie Vaden, Jessey Morgan, and the Freshmen class of 2011. When I asked Selena how she felt when our chapter won this honorable award, she told me,   “I was very surprised and happy because this was the first National Chapter Award Mackay had won in a long time.”. Selena had put a lot of hard work and time into achieving this award. If we were to have gotten the Gold, our book could have went to nationals. “We have put in a book every year, but this is the first year we have got an award.” Says Vernon Roche the adviser here in Mackay. Getting this award will give us the motivation to go for gold this year! Good luck Mackay Chapter!   By Jordyn Marcroft
