Applications are now being accepted for the Oregon Century Farm and Ranch Program, which honors families that continuously farmed their land for 100 or even 150 years.

Farms are eligible for the honor if they have been in family operation for 100 years, produce a gross farm income of at least $1,000 for three out of the past five years prior to application, and a family member must live on or manage the farm or ranch. Oregon has 1,156 Century Farms and 26 that have been designated Sesquicentennial Farms — in operation 150 years.

The application deadline is May 1, 2014. To apply, go to www.oregonfb.org/century farm or contact Andrea Kuenzi at 503-400-7884 or email cfr@oregonfb.org.
