RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Frigid temperatures failed to cool the bidding during livestock sales at the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo in Rapid City.
The Rapid City Journal reports that consigners from Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota brought cattle that attracted the attention of buyers from 13 states.
Show marketing and livestock coordinator Kadee Hande says everyone was pleased with the turnout. She says some buyers stayed home because of the cold weather and called in their bids, but for the most part the stands were filled with buyers.
KEVN-TV reports that this year’s bison auction also was successful, drawing buyers from more than 20 states.
