CASH SOFT WHITE WHEAT

Pacific Northwest: Bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during February ended the reporting week on Thursday, Feb. 6, at $775-7.1075, mostly $7.0625. Bids were 22.25 to 32.25 cents per bushel higher than Jan. 29 bids for February delivery of $6.6850-6.8850. White club wheat premiums for this week ranged from 50 to 60 cents, mostly 53 cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids compared to last week at zero to 50, mostly 25 cents.

One year ago bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat and white club wheat for February delivery were $8.55-8.7650, mostly $8.6575.

Nearby bids for U.S. 1 Soft White wheat began the reporting week on Jan. 31 at the weekly low of mostly 6.9075, before moving higher to mostly $7.02 on Feb. 3 and to the weekly high mostly $7.2125 on Feb. 4. Bids fell to mostly $7.13 on Feb. 5 and ended the reporting week Feb. 6 at $7.0625.

Several exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. New confirmed export sales of white wheat this week were limited to Japan. Forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: March $775-7.17, April and May $7.0225-7.17 and August New Crop $6.4425-6.6925. One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: March $8.65-8.7650, April and May $8.70-8.80 and August New Crop $7.8225-8.1725.

Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of Jan. 30, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2014, totaled 971.7 thousand MT compared to 979.9 thousand MT on Jan. 23, 2014, and 993.7 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat export sales for the 2013-14 marketing year were to the following countries in 1000 MT: South Korea 302.8, Japan 236.0, Philippines 115.7, Guatemala 53.1, Thailand 48.0, Colombia 20.0, Nigeria 19.2, Taiwan 11.1, Burma 4.4, Vietnam 2.6, Mexico 2.2, Malaysia 1.4, Canada 1.0, Hong Kong 0.5 and total unknown 153.7.

Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of Jan. 30, in 1000 MT for the 2013-14 marketing year, totaled 2717.6 compared to 3138.9 one year ago.

Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of Jan. 30, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2014, in 1000 MT, totaled 37.9 compared to 49.7 on Jan. 23, and 1.8 one year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2013-14 marketing year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 35.8, Taiwan 1.3 and South Korea 0.8. Accumulated barley export shipments as of Jan. 30, were 120.8 thousand MT compared to 121.0 one year ago.

COARSE FEEDING GRAINS

Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars were not available. Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Wash., and Hermiston, Ore., were also not available. Bids for U.S. 2 Heavy White Oats for February delivery were $265, steady compared to Jan. 30 noon bids.
