Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was at a standstill this week. There were no confirmed trades and demand was moderate. Some warehouses are beginning to get some wool into the warehouse. Compared to last week slaughter lambs were mostly steady. Slaughter ewes were steady in light test. Feeder lambs were steady to $10 higher. Severe winter weather throughout much of the U.S. has hampered marketing. At San Angelo, Texas, 2,398 head sold in a one-day sale. No sales in Equity Electronic Auction. In direct trading slaughter ewes were not tested; feeder lambs steady. 8,400 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs under 170 lbs. were $5-6 higher while over 170 lbs. were $3-4 lower and 7,400 head of formula sales of carcasses under 65 lbs. were not well tested; 65-75 lbs. were $12 higher; 75-85 lbs. were $1-2 higher and over 85 lbs. were $4-5 higher. 5,261 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs. and down $52.02 higher; 45-55 lbs. $10.35 higher and 55 lbs. and up $2.14 higher.
