Sutherline FFA finishes strong at district ag sales
At the Umpqua FFA District Agriculture Sales competition, Sutherlin FFA was in strong attendance, with the advanced team placing second, and the beginning team placing first.
Students at the competition got to try their hand at the art of the sell, researching a specific product and selling that product to “customers,” judges who are local business owners, managers, and community members.
Students also participated in one of four practicum areas, ranging from Ad Layout and Customer Relations, to Cold-Calling and Phone-Order Taking. A. Sales teaches students how to handle themselves in a professional manner when it comes to the world of business and selling.
The top ten individuals for the beginning team were: Eliza Sorenson (1st), Lee Wesenberg (2nd), Bailey Masterfield (4th), Patrick Gerstner (5th), Kalana Granger (7th), Esten Harrington (8th), and Shyanna Smith (10th). On the advanced side, Sutherlin FFA was well represented with Jesse Freeman (2nd), Christy Chamberlain (3rd), Kelsey Maillet (4th), Heather Brown (5th), Bryson Price (7th), and Miranda Mendenhall (10th). It was overall a very good day for the Sutherlin FFA Chapter.
