Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was at a standstill this week. There were no confirmed trades. Demand was moderate. Some warehouses are beginning to get some wool into the warehouse. The vast majority of producers that shear this time of year are just getting things prepared for shearing. Domestic wool trading on a greasy basis was at a standstill this week. There were no confirmed trades.

Compared to Jan. 3 slaughter lambs were $20-30 lower at New Holland, Pa. Slaughter ewes were $10-20 higher. Feeder lambs had no recent comparison. At San Angelo, Texas, 2,199 head sold in a one-day sale. No sales in Equity Electronic Auction. In direct trading slaughter ewes were not tested; feeder lambs were steady. 7,400 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were $5-9 higher and 9,400 head of formula sales of carcasses under 55 lbs. were not well tested; 55-65 lbs. were sharply lower; 65-75 lbs. were $4-5 higher; 75-85 lbs. were $1-2 lower; 85-95 lbs. were $5-6 lower and no test on over 95 lbs. 6,056 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs. and down 35.36 lower; 45-55 lbs. $7.92 higher; 55-65 lbs. $.91 lower; 65-85 lbs. $2.15-3.18 higher and 85 lbs. and up $.70 higher.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS Choice and Prime 2-3:

San Angelo: shorn and wooled 100-150 lbs. $152-166, few $170.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS Choice and Prime 1:

San Angelo: 40-60 lbs. $220-242; 60-70 lbs. $222-230; 70-80 lbs. $190-206; 81 lbs. $200; 108 lbs. $180.

DIRECT TRADING (Lambs with 3-4 percent shrink or equivalent):

7,400 Slaughter Lambs shorn and wooled 109-166 lbs. $139-174 (wtd avg $159.24); no dressed sales reported.

Washington: 700 Feeder Lambs 80-90 lbs. $177.50.

SLAUGHTER EWES:

San Angelo: Good 2-3 (fleshy) $60-64; Utility and Good 1-3 (medium flesh) $70-82, few $86-90; Utility 1-2 (thin) $60-72; Cull and Utility 1-2 (very thin) $44-59; Cull 1 (extremely thin) $30-38.

FEEDER LAMBS Medium and Large 1-2:

San Angelo: 61 lbs. $206; 70-90 lbs. $190-210; 107 lbs. $181.

REPLACEMENT EWES Medium and Large 1-2:
