GRAND RONDE, Ore. (AP) — The Polk County sheriff’s office says the driver of a loaded log truck died when the truck ran off a logging road south of Grand Ronde, Ore., and plunged down an embankment in heavy fog.

Lt. Jeff Isham said the driver was ejected in the Tuesday morning crash. The wreckage wasn’t found for about four hours because of the fog.

The truck driver was identified as 39-year-old Gary Kline of Independence, Ore.

Grand Ronde is about 60 miles southwest of Portland.
