University of Idaho Extension and Washington State University Extension will host the annual family forester workshop Jan. 17 at the Mirabeau Park Hotel and Convention Center in Spokane Valley, Wash.
According to a UI press release, topics include the current state of forest certification, establishing western red cedar, the past and future of non-timber forest products in the Pacific Northwest, re-evaluating deer and elk responses to predators, restoring and managing ponderosa pine forests for cavity-nesting birds and forest practice law updates for Idaho and Washington.
Pre-registration cost is $85 before Jan. 10 and $95 after. The program can accommodate up to 100 people. Registration forms are available at local UI and WSU Extension offices.
