VANCOUVER, Wash. — Farmers have until Dec. 23 to register for the Washington State Farmers Market Association’s annual conference.
The conference, Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in Vancouver, Wash., will include workshops on strategies to help shoppers buy more, finding and retaining good sales employees, using the farm’s story to build relationships and strengthen your key shoppers and creative ways to use a market booth to expand sales.
The workshops will be organized along tracks coinciding with degree of experience in farmers’ markets.
A new event is the “Farmer Manager SmackDown,” in which veteran market managers and market farmers address questions that come up at every market. Also new will be a tour of a Portland neighborhood farmers’ market.
