Fire burns fruit bins at Odell fruit cooperative

Bins caught fire at a fruit co-op in Odell, Ore. No injuries were reported.

ODELL, Ore. (AP) — Fire destroyed a stack of empty fruit bins Monday night at Diamond Fruit Growers in Odell.

Fire Department spokeswoman Tiffany Peterson told KATU (http://bit.ly/1jFC3oH ) the bins were outside and no buildings were damaged. No one was injured.

The fire was reported after 8 p.m. Monday and was under control in about an hour.

Odell is south of Hood River.

Diamond Fruit Growers is a cooperative of pear and cherry orchardists in the Hood River Valley.
