21 head of cattle die in truck crash
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Twin Falls County officials say a man was injured and 21 head of cattle died when a truck hauling a load of cattle overturned south of Twin Falls.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Lori Stewart says 48-year-old Kenneth Womack was driving on a rural road Tuesday afternoon when the truck missed a curve and rolled onto its passenger side.
Workers had to cut into the trailer to rescue the cattle. Stewart says 21 of the 55 cows in the truck died.
Womack was cited for driving too fast for conditions. He suffered minor injuries.
The crash blocked the intersection for four hours.
