The Cattle Producers of Washington plan a roll-over auction to benefit country of origin labeling. The auction is Nov. 9 at Stockland Livestock Auction in Davenport, Wash. CPOW hopes to benefit the U.S. Cattlemen's legal battle to ensure COOL is enacted in the United States.

Cattle Producers of Washington will hold a roll-over auction to benefit the U.S. Cattlemen’s legal battle to bring country of origin labeling (COOL) to the United States.

CPOW holds the auction, continuing to sell a donated steer for the highest possible price, Nov. 9 at Stockland Livestock Auction in Davenport, Wash. The steer will be donated by the Diamond M Ranch in Laurier, Wash. The rollover coincides with the annual bred cow sale at the auction, beginning at noon.

CPOW hopes the labeling will increase profitability in the live cattle market.

Several CPOW members have formed a syndicate to help get the rollover auction started with an opening big, committing $100 towards the auction. They include Willard Wolf, Monte and Vicki McPeak, Bob Schoessler, Craig Grub, Carl Grub, Dave and Julie Dashiell, L.D. and Gwen Green, Ginger Schoesler, Jim Wentland, Dick and Madeline Moore and Scott Nielsen.
