On October 15, 2013, the Sutherlin FFA Chapter attended the State Soils Career Development Event in Dayton, Oregon.
Sutherlin FFA had a strong showing with the A team placing 2nd overall, and the B team placing 2nd out of all B teams. We had two members in the individual top ten. Joe Matteo was 10th high individual, and Bryson Price tied for 4th high individual. Heather Brown placed 13th overall, and Tessa Franklin placed 14th overall. Other participants include: Christina Moody, Ambrose Brower, Taylor Brooke, and Ariel Taylor.
Sutherlin FFA is a student-led organization, and is part of the National FFA Organization. FFA teaches students leadership skills. It is an integral part of Agriculture Education, combining agriculture with high school curriculum, as well as teaching students the skills they will need for the rest of their lives.
