The Bonners Ferry FFA chapter traveled to Moscow, Idaho, last month to participate in the State Career Development Events.

The ten students participated in four different CDE’s with four to a team. The teams included; Livestock: Emma Pluid, Abby Davis, Andrea Maas, and Gabby Munson. Forestry: Emma Pluid, Collin Stone, Spencer Jantz, and Chase Hannahs. Dairy Foods: Erica Wood, Dani Hooper, Andrea Maas, and Rebecca Smith. Agronomy: Collin Stone, Gaby Munson, Spencer Jantz, and Erica Wood.

The chapter had participated in these CDE’s throughout the year plus Ag Mechanics which they could not participate in this past week due to a shortage of students to fill the team.

Mr. Ineck was unavailable to attend due to personal things so replacing him was his student teacher Tyler Johnson of the University of Idaho and Kim Pluid.

Each event lasted between two and four hours and many were outside in the hot weather.

There were 51 chapters there and 687 students participated in the events throughout the week. The Agronomy team took 10th place. They are our strongest team. Next year we plan on having all of our teams stronger and participating in as many CDE’s as possible.
