TULARE, Calif. — More than 300 local third-graders were slated to attend a safety field trip Oct. 24 at the International Agri-Center here.
In the fourth annual event, students were expected to learn how to prevent injuries and reduce the risk of farm-related incidents, according to a news release.
The children were to participate in interactive activities to reinforce the importance of taking responsibility for their own safety, respecting parents’ safety rules and sharing safety tips with family and friends. The event included lessons on tractor and ATV safety, “stranger danger”, 911 calls and fire safety.
The field day was co-sponsored by the Progressive Agriculture Foundation.
