SACRAMENTO — The California Cattlemen's Association is accepting nominations for its most prestigious honor, the Gordon Van Vleck Award.

Named for a past CCA president, the award recognizes someone who has made significant contributions to the livestock industry but does not work exclusively as a beef producer, an organization newsletter explains.

The deadline for nominations is Oct. 1.
