WALLULA, Wash. (AP) — The state Ecology Department has fined a beef cattle feeding operation in Wallula $24,000 for excessive dust.

Inspectors say Simplot Feeders violated air quality rules in March while grinding hay.

The Tri-City Herald reports Simplot Feeders may appeal the fine to the state Pollution Control Hearings Board.
