Oregon GMO labeling measure qualifies for ballot
Backers of a measure that would require labeling of products containing genetically modified organisms have gathered enough signatures to place the initiative on November’s ballot.
Secretary of State Kate Brown said Wednesday that backers gathered 118,780 valid signatures. Labeling proponents needed to gather the 87,000 signatures.
In total, the Oregon GMO Right to Know petition committee said it collected 155,000 signatures.
