WENATCHEE, Wash. — Employees of Stemilt Growers LLC, one of the state’s largest tree fruit companies, and employees of local engineering firm SCJ Alliance are providing Christmas gifts to 188 area foster children.

Children under the care of the state’s Division of Child & Family Services in Wenatchee or the Community Resources Group of Wenatchee and Yakima will receive bikes, games, clothes and more. Stemilt’s Community Investment Committee organized the effort.

“Giving back to local children is a priority of ours at Stemilt and I’m proud of the enthusiasm and generosity our team shows every year in supporting those in foster care in our community,” said West Mathison, Stemilt president.

It is the fifth year Stemilt has led the effort.
