Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains or barges during August for ordinary protein trended 20 to 32 cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for the same delivery period from 6.12-6.28.

Pacific Northwest Market Summary: Cash wheat bids for August delivery ended the reporting week on Thursday, Aug. 9, mixed compared to week ago noon bids for August delivery.

September wheat futures ended the reporting week on Thursday, Aug. 9, higher as follows compared to week ago closes: Chicago wheat futures were four cents higher at 5.6450, Kansas City wheat futures were 9.25 cents higher at 5.7850 and Minneapolis wheat futures trended 19.25 cents higher at 6.2975. Chicago September corn futures trended 2.50 cents higher at 3.6925 and September soybean futures closed six cents higher at 8.93.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains or barges during August for ordinary protein trended 20 to 32 cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for the same delivery period from 6.12-6.28. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

White club wheat premiums were zero cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids this week and last week.

One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat any protein for August delivery by unit trains and barges to Portland were 4.9950-5.27 and bids for White Club Wheat were 4.9950-5.32.

Forward month bids for soft white wheat ordinary protein were as follows: September 6.15-6.26, October 6.26-6.2650, November 6.26-6.2850 and December 6.29-6.3050.

One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat for any protein were as follows: September 5.0450-5.32, October 5.2675-5.37, November 5.3175-5.42 and December 5.3675-5.47.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein during August trended 10 to 32 cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for the same delivery period from 6.12-6.15.

Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

White club wheat premiums for guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein soft white wheat this week were zero cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids this week and last week.

One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein for August delivery by unit trains and barges to Portland were 4.9950-5.25 and bids for White Club Wheat were 4.9950-5.25.

Forward month bids for soft white wheat guaranteed 10.5 percent proteins were as follows: September 6.15-6.18.

One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat for any protein were as follows: September 5.0450-5.25, October 5.2675-5.35, November 5.3175-5.35 and December 5.35-5.3675.

Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for August delivery trended mixed, from 5.75 cents lower to 4.25 cents per bushel higher than week ago bids for the same delivery period. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. This week, bids were as follows: August 6.8350-6.8850, September 6.8850-6.9850, October 7.0925-7.1425, November 7.0925-7.1925 and December 7.0925-7.2425.

Bids for non-guaranteed 14.0 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for Portland delivery during August trended 19.25 to 24.25 cents per bushel higher than week ago bids for the same delivery period. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

This week, bids for non-guaranteed 14 percent protein were as follows: August 7.1975-7.2975, September 7.1475-7.2975, October 7.37-7.47, November 7.47-7.52 and December 7.52-7.57.

Coarse feeding grains: Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered full coast Pacific Northwest BNSF shuttle trains for August delivery trended 1.50 to 2.50 cents higher from 4.4925-4.5125. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Forward month corn bids were as follows: September 4.5725-4.6125, October 4.5975-4.6375, November 4.6375-4.6775, December 4.7275-4.7775 and January 4.89. Bids for US 1 Yellow Soybeans delivered full coast Pacific Northwest BNSF shuttle trains for August delivery were not available as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Forward month soybean bids were as follows: August not available. Bids for US 2 Heavy White Oats for August delivery trended 29.25 cents lower at 3.4825 per bushel.

Pacific Northwest Export News: There were 16 grain vessels in Columbia River ports on Thursday, Aug. 9, with three docked compared to 12 last week with four docked. There were no new confirmed export sales this week from the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) of the USDA.
