Pacific Northwest Market Summary: Cash wheat bids for February delivery ended the reporting week on Thursday, Feb. 22, were mixed compared to week ago noon bids for February delivery.

March wheat futures ended the reporting week on Thursday, Feb. 22, lower as follows compared to week ago closes: Chicago wheat futures were 10.50 cents lower at 4.5125, Kansas City wheat futures were 7.25 cents lower at 4.7075 and Minneapolis wheat futures trended 5.50 cents lower at 6.03. Chicago March corn futures trended one cent lower at 3.6675 and March soybean futures closed 7.75 cents higher at 10.32.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains or barges during February for ordinary protein trended steady to 10 cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for the same delivery period from 5.30-5.62. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

White club wheat premiums were zero to five cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids this week and last week.

One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat any protein for February delivery by unit trains and barges to Portland were 4.7625-4.87 and bids for White Club Wheat were 4.8625-5.02.

Forward month bids for soft white wheat ordinary protein were as follows: March 5.30-5.62, April and May 5.46-5.62 and August New Crop 5.45-5.58.

One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat for any protein were as follows: March 4.7125-4.87, April 4.71-4.87, May 4.71-4.85 and August New Crop 4.79-4.8450.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein during February trended steady to 1.50 cents per bushel higher than week ago prices for the same delivery period from 5.25-5.5125. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

White club wheat premiums for guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein soft white wheat this week were zero to five cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids this week and last week.

One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein for February delivery by unit trains and barges to Portland were 4.7625-4.8625 and bids for White Club Wheat were 4.8625.

Forward month bids for soft white wheat guaranteed 10.5 percent proteins were as follows: March 5.30-5.5125, April 5.46-5.5425, May 5.46-5.5625 and August New Crop 5.45-5.5025.

One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat for any protein were as follows: March 4.7125-4.80, April and May 4.71-4.77 and August New Crop 4.80-4.8450.

Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for February delivery trended 7.25 cents per bushel lower than week ago bids for the same delivery period. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. This week, bids were as follows: February 6.1575-6.4075, March 6.2075-6.4075, April and May 6.3625-6.4125.

Bids for non-guaranteed 14.0 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for Portland delivery during February trended 5.50 cents per bushel lower than week ago bids for the same delivery period. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby

delivery. This week, bids for non-guaranteed 14 percent protein were as follows: February 7.18-7.33, March 7.18-7.38, April 7.3575-7.5075 and May 7.3575-7.5575.

Coarse feeding grains: Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered full coast Pacific Northwest - BN shuttle trains for February delivery trended four to nine cents per bushel higher than week ago bids for the same delivery period from 4.8175-5.0175.

Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Forward month corn bids were as follows: March 4.6175-4.7475, April 4.5975-4.6675, May 4.5475-4.6075, June and July 4.5550-4.5750.

Bids for US 1 Yellow Soybeans delivered full coast Pacific Northwest - BN shuttle trains for February delivery trended 7.75 to 9.75 cents higher than week ago bids for the same delivery period from 11.12-11.17. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Forward month soybean bids were as follows: March 11.10-11.12. Bids for US 2 Heavy White Oats for November delivery trended steady at 3.1925 per bushel.

Pacific Northwest Export News: There were 19 grain vessels in Columbia River ports on Thursday, Feb. 22, with four docked compared to 23 last week with four docked. There were no new confirmed export sales this week from the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) of the USDA.
