Compared to last week. Slaughter lambs were mostly steady to $10 higher, except at Sioux Falls, S.D., and Kalona, Iowa, where they were $8-10 lower. Slaughter ewes were mostly steady to $4 lower. Feeder lambs were $3-30 lower. At San Angelo, Texas, 5,002 head sold in a one-day sale. No sales in Equity Electronic Auction. In direct trading slaughter ewes and feeder lambs not tested. 6,100 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs under 170 lbs. were steady to $3 lower, while over 170 lbs. were not well tested and 7,900 head of formula sales of carcasses under 55 lbs. were not well tested; 55-65 lbs. had no recent price comparison; 65-85 lbs. were $7-10 higher; 85-95 lbs. were $1-2 lower and over 95 lbs. were not well tested.

San Angelo: 50-100 lbs. $165-173; 100-110 lbs. $164-168.

REPLACEMENT EWES Medium and Large 1-2:

San Angelo: baby tooth wool ewes $122-132 per head; baby tooth to solid mouth hair ewes 80-120 lbs. $100-106 cwt.

Sheep and lamb slaughter under federal inspection for the week to date totaled 40,000 compared with 42,000 last week and 42,000 last year.
