Alfalfa prices rose approximately $5-10 per ton in the Columbia Basin.

Hay prices are dollars per ton or dollars per bale when sold to retail outlets. Basis is current delivery FOB barn or stack, or delivered customer as indicated.

Grade guidelines used in this report have the following relationship to Relative Feed Value (RFV), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), TDN (Total Digestible Nutrients), or Crude Protein (CP) test numbers:

Trade was light with many producers busy harvesting the new crop and getting it tested and marketed. Demand remains strong and nice weather has helped both producers and buyers alike.

Compared to May 30: Prices narrowly mixed compared to sales for the same quality last week with a larger range of quality. Trading was light during the week with a smaller volume than last week. Most producers have sold all of their old crop for the last season with a few producers starting to harvest the new crop in certain areas. The weather has been favorable for most producers.
