CASH SOFT WHITE WHEAT

Pacific Northwest: Bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during April ended the reporting week on Thursday, April 24, at $7.55-7.79, mostly $7.6925. Bids were mixed, from 6.25 cents lower to 2.75 cents per bushel higher than April 17 bids for April delivery of $7.6125-7.7625, mostly $7.7175. White club wheat premiums for this week were 50 to 80 cents, mostly 58 cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids compared to 50 cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids last week. One year ago bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat and white club wheat for April delivery were not available. Nearby bids for U.S. 1 Soft White wheat began the holiday shortened reporting week on April 21 at the weekly low of mostly $7.4950 then rose to mostly $7.5475 on April 22 and to mostly $7.55 on April 23. April 24, bids continued higher to the weekly high of mostly $7.6925. There were No. new confirmed export sales of white wheat this week. Forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: May $7.55-7.79, June $7.7650-7.8150, July $7.5550-7.8150 and August New Crop $7.35-7.6050. One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: May $7.70-7.75, June $7.70-7.80, July $7.4975-7.67 and August New Crop $7.4975-7.5475.

Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of April 17 for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2014, totaled 712.2 thousand MT compared to 837.7 thousand MT on April 10 and 409.0 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat export sales for the 2013-14 marketing year were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 188.5, South Korea 115.1, Philippines 106.3, Yemen 55.0, Indonesia 40.0, Thailand 31.5, Guatemala 23.3, Columbia 20.0, Taiwan 12.9, Malaysia 12.5, Nigeria 7.1, Vietnam 2.3, China 2.0, Mexico 1.4, Burma 1.0, Canada 0.8, Hong Kong 0.5 and total unknown 92.0. Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of April 17 in 1000 MT for the 2013-14 marketing year, totaled 3706.7 compared to 4161.9 one year ago.

Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of April 17, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2014, in 1000 MT, totaled 45.0 compared to 44.1 on April 10, and 4.5 one year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2013-14 marketing year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 36.8, South Korea 7.4 and Taiwan 0.8. Accumulated barley export shipments as of April 17 were 135.9 thousand MT compared to 131.3 one year ago.

COARSE FEEDING GRAINS

Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars were not available. Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Wash., and Hermiston, Ore., were also not available. Bids for U.S. 2 Heavy White Oats for April delivery were $275, $5 higher compared to April 17 noon bids.
