SACRAMENTO — Cattle researchers and extension advisors have until July 18 to apply to fill a vacancy on California’s Cattle Health Advisory Task Force.

The panel advises state Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross on the control and management of cattle diseases and evaluates the effectiveness of cattle health programs, according to a news release.

The term of office is two years. Members of the committee are not paid, though they are reimbursed for such expenses as mileage, lodging, meals and incidental costs, the release explains.

Applicants should send a brief resume to the CDFA's Animal Health Branch, 1220 N St., Sacramento, CA 95814. Mark the envelope to the attention of Anita Edmondson.
