SEQUIM, Wash. — The official grand opening of Coastal Farm and Ranch’s new Sequim store is Wednesday through Sunday.
The expansion into Sequim is the Northwest-owned and -operated retailer’s third store in northwest Washington state.
“The build-out is complete and the store looks amazing,” Store Manager Jimmie Davenport said in a company press release. “We’ve packed the store with 2,000 pairs of work boots, 3,000 pairs of jeans, miles and miles of fencing and over 20 working stoves and fireplaces. Selection makes our store special and unique.”
The store’s grand opening celebration includes performances by local high school cheerleaders, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an ice cream social and a 25-cent hamburger barbecue benefiting local FFA and 4-H Clubs.
According to store owner Buzz Wheeler, Coastal has hired many new employees from the local Clallam County area. “It’s very important to support the local community, and one of the best ways is by hiring knowledgeable, smart people who have lived in the area for years,” says Wheeler. “We’ve found a really talented crew and staff and I’m excited to see what they’re going to do.”
Coastal’s new store is in the Bell Creek Plaza in the former Staples and Del’s building. The store carries over 50,000 products and includes a large indoor yard, allowing customers to shop for fencing, livestock, equipment and lawn and garden supplies regardless of weather. Plus the store has a complete sporting goods department with firearms, ammo, fishing gear and camping supplies.
Approximately one-third of the store is dedicated to clothing, with another third being a combination of hardware, tools, welding and automotive, and the balance filled with animal health, farm equipment, tack, feed and supplements.
Coastal Farm and Ranch operates 16 stores in Washington and Oregon, including Auburn, Mount Vernon, Wenatchee and Yakima. The company has been part of the farm and ranch community since 1963 and employs over 700 people.
