Oregon FFA Foundation Appoints Doug Hoffman as Interim Executive Director

Canby, Oregon – The Oregon FFA Foundation Board of Directors appointed Doug Hoffman as its interim executive director, effective September 1, 2018. Hoffman will serve in this role while the Foundation completes a national search for a new executive director. Kevin White, who served as the Foundation’s executive director for the past seven years, recently accepted a new position with Deschutes County Title. White’s last day with the Foundation was August 31, 2018.

Hoffman, who chairs the Foundation’s Board of Directors, brings decades of proven management and leadership experience to the Foundation. In December 2017, Hoffman retired as president and CEO of Wilco, after leading the agricultural cooperative for more than 20 years. During Hoffman’s tenure, Wilco became the Foundation’s single-largest financial partner.

Kirk Maag, the Foundation’s Vice-President, explained that “the Foundation’s Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome Doug’s steady leadership to the Foundation during our search for a new executive director. Doug understands the critical role the Foundation plays in securing funding for agricultural education and the Oregon FFA Association. He will ensure our work continues without interruption.”

Hoffman says he “appreciates Kevin White’s work in growing the Foundation’s network of partners and looks forward to working with the Foundation’s Board of Directors, staff, and partners to continue pursuing the Foundation mission. We have a great team in place, and we’re well-positioned to continue the important work of funding the programs and activities that benefit thousands of students each year. Our work helps to grow the next generation of leaders through agricultural education.”

Over the past seven years, the Foundation achieved tremendous growth under White’s leadership. During White’s tenure, the Foundation’s annual fundraising collections increased from about $6,000 to more than $600,000 per year. The Foundation has aggressive fundraising goals to further its mission and seeks a new leader to build on the Foundation’s growth.

The Foundation is currently accepting applications for the executive director position and seeks a proven leader with a strong entrepreneurial vision. The Foundation intends to begin reviewing applications on September 21, 2018.
