LOUDON, N.H. (AP) — U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is coming to New Hampshire on Tuesday to visit a farm that’s one of 250 in the country getting a grant aimed at turning commodities into value-added products.
The Miles Smith Farm in Loudon is getting a grant to produce and market local burgers. The 36-acre farm raises grass-fed beef.
The 250 farms are getting a total of $25 million in grants.
Vilsack is scheduled to be at the farm at 2 p.m. with New Hampshire Agriculture Commissioner Lorraine Merrill and others.
